Being a DRUMMER

The Drummers are also very loud people, but at least they have rhythm, well most of the time anyway.

The Drummers perform a vital function for the Regiment on the field. Not only can orders be transmitted by the drum, over the shot and shell of a noisy battlefield; but the stirring beat of the drum helps carry the soldiers into the fray and can greatly worry the opposition.

We in Crawfords Battalia are blessed to have a large and talented drum corps of which we are rightly very proud.

Drummer

Research has indicated one interesting point of historical note; the drummers taken on campaign by the English army fighting the Scots in 1639/40 were largely taken from the Lunatic Asylums of London.

This did not greatly surprise us; maybe drummers haven't changed so much since the seventeenth century.

So if banging a drum is your idea of fun then perhaps this would suit you. We are always on the look out for enthusiastic people to learn the mysterious art of the drummer.
